The 2015 Mennonite World Conference convened in Harrisburg, Pennyslvnia, USA, has come and gone with some delegates saying they will implement some of the issues they derived from the event.
One of them is Pastor Hlanganani Dube of the Brethren-In-Christ Church, who visited a local orphanage catering for the needs of various children, told VOA Studio 7 there are some strategies used by Americans to improve the lives of orphans.
Dube said he will implement some of the issues that he learnt from running orphanages by fusing it with Biblical matters.
The 16th Mennonite World Conference was attended by hundreds of people, including 200 Zimbabweans, drawn from at least 57 nations.
The conference is an international community of Anabaptist-related churches representing Christian churches rooted in the 16th century Radical Reformation in Europe. Members include Mennonites and Brethren-In-Christ followers with 1,3 million baptized believers from Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and North America.
Mennonites, who have established a reputation of being very strict followers of non-violence, are engaged in various activities like tackling poverty, HIV and related issues.
